'subtle temper' came about as I was speculating ideas for the next x.h. album after 'opaque & adrift'. I wanted to do something a little darker and moody. A little more odd and try out some new sounds.

I think I got the darker part down and the new sounds give it this sort of tribal sound to it almost. (I don't know how to really describe it.) ... Enmity; temper; subtle hate. I wanted to center on that for this album a bit. And I wanted to do something new. So these were the first batch of tracks where I decided to play around with vocals parts and add in some passages of things I'd written.

Not much to say about this one, really. It's just got a particular mood to it!
